My LPGA journey so far.
Summer is upon us and I feel like I have done so much in the last six months. So far I have not had the results I was hoping for, but I have learnt so much from each event and also had fun along the way. I started the year in the Bahamas and then went down under to Australia to play in three events. Two of my favourite places to travel to for very similar reasons. Both places are known for their amazing beaches and outdoor lifestyles. Here are some pictures from both trips. We played the Ocean Club in the Bahamas and I had the chance to play New South Wales Golf Club near Sydney.
In March the LPGA started in the US. My first event Stateside was in Phoenix, Arizona which was a fun event as the tournament is called the Founders Cup so we celebrate the 13 women who founded the LPGA. Our next event was in Carlsbad, California which is just north of San Diego. I loved the course at this event and I also enjoyed being so close to the ocean. Unfortunately that side of the pacific is freezing so I just stuck to walking on the beach! After the tour took two weeks off, I went to New Orleans and Tampa where I was able to stay with friends and practice. The next stop on tour was Hawaii! This was my first time to any of the islands of Hawaii and I absolutely loved it. The tournament was of course very windy being located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean which made the golf very interesting. I also had some time to enjoy the beaches and watch the surfers on the huge waves! Here is a picture of my ex-team mate at Tulane University, Sam Troyanovich and I playing a practice round together.
Our next event was played in LA. A complete contrast in every way to Hawaii. The course we played was called Wilshire Country Club which is in Hollywood. As you can imagine it was a little faster paced than island time! I made my first Hole in One during the tournament! During the first round I finished with a hole in one, and then back to back birdies! I think that will go down as my best ever finish to a round so far. Another highlight of playing in LA was getting to meet one of the members at Wilshire Country Club. If you are into dancing at all then you might recognise him! Len Goodman!

After LA we went to San Francisco, which is now one of my favourite US cities to visit. What a fun place is was to explore!

After San Francisco we had tournaments in Texas, Virginia, Michigan, New Jersey, Arkansas and Wisconsin. I have really been all over the place in the last six months. I have started to see better results over the last two months with cuts made in both Michigan events and a near miss in Virginia after being on the wrong side of the draw. I am really feeling positive about my game after having had a full schedule the last few months. My next event is the Aberdeen Standard Investment Ladies Scottish Open, which I am very excited about! The tournament is being played at Gullane which is one of my favourite courses in Scotland. I played several junior events there so I have very fond memories. Gullane is also the same course as the men played last week at the men’s Scottish Open so it is nice to have an event closely linked with the them. Hopefully an example of more events like that to come in the future. Unfortunately, my results so far this year are not showing how well I have been playing over the past six months, but I am confident I will finish the second half of the year on a positive note. No matter how the year turns out, I know I will still have had a fun year full of learning and positive experiences. I would like to give a special mention and thank you to my new sponsors.
